Building Awareness-Stage Content for a Health Education Movement-Feedback?

I'm currently building a health awareness initiative focused on early detection education, specifically around soft tissue sarcoma in pets and families.

Right now, I'm in the Awareness stage of the buyer's journey. My goal is to educate, build trust, and spark curiosity - not sell.

I'm creating short-form educational content (Videos, micro-facts, myth-busting post, and a "2-minute monthly check" routine concept).

For those who’ve built trust in the awareness phase:
• What content formats performed best for you?
• Did storytelling outperform educational content?
• How did you move viewers from passive consumption to engagement (follows, saves, shares)?

I’d appreciate any insights from those who’ve grown a mission-driven brand in this stage.

According to me, if you’re at the awareness stage, the goal isn’t just to educate, it’s to earn the attention first, then deliver the value. From my experience, starting with basic educational and informational content works, but only if it’s portrayed in a way that stops the people from scrolling. You cannot depend on one format at this point, testing different formats is important to understand what your audience responds to.

If we talk about storytelling outperforming educational content, I don’t think otherwise. What actually works is education delivered in the form of storytelling. Pure education often gets ignored unless the audience is already aware or actively searching about it. But when you combine education with a relatable moment, it performs better and stays longer.Secondly, trust and engagement come from relatability, not just information. People engage more when they feel like this person understands my reality or this has happened with me.One thing I’d like to add from my side is that just trying multiple formats without feedback can waste your time and efforts. You need to test with intent as to what hook worked? What got saves or just views? What made people share? Otherwise, you’re posting blindly.
