Hello, our client is moving their website to SqaureSpace, but want to keep publishing their blog via Hubspot, and use a subdomain to host the Hubspot blog. Retaining all current blog posts and metrics.

I'm not exactly sure how to do this, but I know I'll need to duplicate the current blog so I can work on updating it style wise to match the new website and so that it can be hosted separately, without disturbing the current live HubSpot site.

Is this possible to do in anyway? Or is there a better way?

Hey @GStPierre,

there's no need to duplicate the blog. Just add the new subdomain in the domain settings and make it available for blog and pages (for systempages like the pref-center).

Once the new domain is connected, you should be able to switch it in the blog settings

best,

Hi Anton, how would I get this to work if the sub-domain is already active?

Hey @GStPierre,

let's assume you got following domains setup:

content.company.com - currently used for everything in HS

Now you want to build the new website on Squarespace, so once you're done, you need to connect it and disconnect the content.company.com from HS.

In order to do so, you need to connect a second subdomain like blog.company.com to HS first, move everything to this domain and once done, disconnect the content.company.com from HS.

Once disconnected from HS, you can connect it to Squarespace.

Usually this is done by editing the DNS settings in the domain settings of your domain hoster.

Just a friendly tip - unless the TLD(top-level-domain) like company.com is used for something different, I would recommend to use this for the actual website (which will be build on Squarespace) and keep the subdomains in HS.

best
