How do I enable Google Drive to upload documents?

Hi!

I was trying to upload a document for tracking, and the only option not available to me for uploading is Google Drive (see image)

How can I change that?

Hey @GabyR do you see any warnings when hovering over this? Are you logged in to your google drive on the same browser? This is strange, the option is enabled when I test this out and clicking it asks me to approve the integration.

Hi @GabyR

To upload a document from google drive you need to connect your personal Google inbox with HubSpot by doing so you can find this option.

My account was already integrated (for months now), hence why I didn't understand what to do. I didn't get a prompt either.

I've logged in and out and it was fixed. i.e it was not grey anymore

Oncer I could select it, had to choose the Google account again (even if one was already linked) and accept T&C.

When trying to upload a document. Anyways, I logged out and in again and it was not grey anymore 🙂

There was no sign. When I logged in again, I was able to slect it. Upon selection it let me choose the Google account I wanted (even if one was already linked) and agree to T&C.

I don't even see Google Drive as an option when trying to add an attachment to a contact:

How do I enable it? I've already connected my personal Google mailbox, and I see Google Drive as an option when uploading files to the Library, but not to a contact. Even in the Library/Documents section, it strangely only shows me Slides presentations and PDFs, not Docs, or Sheets.

Update, I was able to find an option to add files from cloud storage systems (Google Drive, Dropbox, Box, etc)... but only in the Library/Documents (general company documents) section of Hubspot:

I could upload documents there, but then they're not in context with relevant clients, deals.. and everyone in my company would be able to access them (don't want that).

Bizarrely, when linking to documents on a company/deal/etc, it only offers the option of uploading from your local hard drive (do people still store documents on a local hard drive?!)

This must be a bug (when will it be fixed, is the question?), because I can't imagine a modern system like Hubspot not supporting documents stored in the cloud, to associate with specific companies/deals/contacts.

Did you ever solve this? I also seem to be able to add only PDFs and Slides to my library.

This support article says "file format must be .pptx, .pdf, .docx, or .xlsx"

I'm going to try using G-Drive's export (now "download") feature to push out .docx and .xlsx files which should allow the docs to upload to the library. Frustrating that there isn't a more complete integration. Someone could be very popular if they made a plugin to auto convert from Drive to MS formats and upload to HS library. They'd get my dollar.
