Problem not able to upload files

Hi,

Everytime I try to upload a file either through Landing page link file, or via Email File Manager, it provides an error. This happens with different type of files and sizes.

There was an error uploading your file

The file "whatevernameofthisfile" failed to upload.

"""""

This worked well couple of weeks back, now everything is broken, even though you try to remove old links, remove files from storage, no matter what you do, there is always this error, even on different days.

What has happened to Hubspot?

In such cases I try to download the file in another browser. I had smth like your problem while accesing my site. But the browser changing helped me

Unfortunately this didn't help. Also all cookies and catches cleaned from all three browsers. Something strange is happening at HubSpot end.

If you are certain this is a problem on HubSpot's end, you can try contacting HubSpot support. They will surely be able to point you in the right direction.

I've actually been running into this issue as well. Weird thing is when I go back to the file manager the file actually did upload even though it said it didn't.

This is really interesting, I've seen the same thing popping up @alyssamwilie - wonder if it's a bug, might be worth submitting a ticket if it can be documented.

I am having the same problem. It appears to have occurred after setting up new DNS (CNAME / MX / TXT) records as per new Google / Yahoo email spam laws. Nothing it loading in my emails. Its like all the links are broken.

I sent the below to hubspot support and trying to get a resolve so I can continue operating our business marketing campaigns.

1. When clicking a button in my test email it doesn't go to the link that has been saved, it attempts to go to the website, but says 'page not found'.

2. This happens for file downloads (contained within hubspot media file) too. None of the links are working. Images and file downloads do not point back to the hubspot media file.

Yes, I've removed them all and reloaded them again with no resolve.

3. Whether its an image, a button for a file download or a link to a website blog. None of the links are communicating with the emails.

4. It has to be a simple configuration issue which started after setting up 'recommended' DNS / SPAM configurations.

5. I am receiving emails from various other marketing brands and seeing images and links etc. no issues.

I will follow this community post as I'm ready to call it quits.

@SantaritaK if you think it's related to the DNS changes for email, you can run a test here: https://www.learndmarc.com/ to see if you have everything properly configured.

Thank you - I realised there were a few issues going, but the main one was having the website blog, landing page and somethin else connected to hubspot. Once I disconnected those, the images were appearing in the emails again. 🙂

Hi Jeremy,

My issues resolved after I disconnected my website blog and landing pages from hubspot in the domain section. I now only have my markeing emails connected. My website was created and hosted through siteground but the domain was purchased via GoDaddy. So, I dont need to have the site connected to hubspot, but I do want to manage my CRM and marketing emails through Hubspot.

I hope your issue has been resovled. 🙂

I am having this issue in the free Hubspot version and the support agent is doing NOTHING to support me!!! Is there any resolution of this???

It simpli is NOT opening the "upload files window"???

HELP!!!

Hi @vbajraktarov. I'm sorry you're frustrated. I know HubSpot free can sometimes be frustrating, especially because it doesn't include support. But I think you're in the right place to find help among other users like me. Here's what I'd do for some troubleshooting.

Switch browsers (Chrome to Firefox or Edge or Safari) or use incognito mode to rule out extensions blocking popups.
Clear browser cache, cookies, and disable ad blockers, VPNs, or privacy tools like Ghostery that interfere with JavaScript dialogs.
Try a different network; avoid mobile data or slow ISP uploads, as they can timeout popups

Free HubSpot accounts do have restrictions, like no Marketing > Files tool, limiting visible uploads. That could be an issue. Verify your account setup: complete identity verification and business info in settings to unlock features. I'd also test on HubSpot's standalone file upload page or design manager if applicable, and you have access.

If basic steps fail, free users lack live support, so:

Post details (screenshots, browser, OS) in HubSpot Community for peer help.
Consider a temporary Starter plan trial for email support access.
