Building a website for viewers in China

If I were to add a subdomain to my main site for viewers & prospects in China, for instance asia.mydomain.com, are there ramifactions since I host in North America? For instance, any firewall or glitch implications for hosting a site in the US that encompasses China as a targeted geo location?

I've heard it's better to host the site in China rather than the US, but wanted to confirm if that was true.

I've seen it also in these resources - just wondering if any Community friends have real-world experience with it?

Overall it would be better if you could use a top-level country domain like mydomain.cn instead of a subdomain.

This is a very loaded question - with the questions about firewall, etc. because it all depends on which HubSpot server your account is on since there are regional requirements for data security (US vs EMEA for example) and while I've worked with accounts and websites in APAC, I don't have enough info to provide an adequate answer, eagerly anticipating input from others so I can learn with you!
