Feature request: support custom line item properties in Quotes

Hi everyone,

We’re currently facing a blocker with HubSpot Quotes.

At this time, custom line item properties cannot be displayed in quotes. This prevents us from showing critical commercial and technical information that lives at the line item level, which is essential for our pricing and proposal structure.

Given this limitation, we’d like to understand:

Is there any technical workaround using APIs, custom integrations, or custom-coded solutions to render or inject custom line item properties into quotes?Has anyone successfully built a custom quote or proposal solution using HubSpot line item data combined with external document generation or code?

Any insights from developers or HubSpot experts would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Thanks for your reply.

Our portal is using the newer CPQ quotes experience (with some beta features), and due to our account creation date, we’re unable to fully build and customize our own CPQ the way we’d like.

We followed the step-by-step guide from the link you shared and were able to clone the cpq_quote_theme, adjust the column selections, and publish it successfully. However, when editing the quote templates (under Settings → Objects → Quotes), there is no option to switch to our cloned theme.

It appears that because our portal was created after September 2025, there’s no longer an option to change CPQ quote themes. Only portals that previously had access to legacy quotes seem to be able to do this.

Our main goal is simply to display custom line item properties in the quote line items table, as shown in the article you referenced. However, since that answer dates back to 2024, I’m assuming this approach may no longer be supported.

Could you please confirm:

Whether this approach is now limited to legacy quotes only
If there is any supported method today to display custom line item properties on CPQ quotes in the new experience

I appreciate your time and guidance on this.

It does appear that you're correct in understanding the limited capabilities regarding legacy quotes is correct. As outlined in this knowledge base article:

"-This article references the quotes tool, part of HubSpot's new AI powered CPQ, and available with a Commerce Hub Professional or Enterprise account.
-If you do not have a Commerce Hub Professional or Enterprise account, learn more about legacy quote templates.
-If you have access to legacy quotes and are assigned a Commerce Hub seat, you'll lose access to legacy quotes, and your quote templates, and will gain access to HubSpot's CPQ quotes. To keep using legacy quotes, and your legacy quote templates, change the Commerce Hub seat to a core, or view-only seat to access to legacy quotes."

Additionally, there is mention of custom line item properties here, although it looks like you'll need to enroll in the Beta outlined in the knowledge base article. Please note, this may require an upgraded subscription.
