Read Properties API not returning picklist options for hubspotDefined fields

Hi,

We are using `https://api.hubapi.com/crm/v3/properties/companies/` to read the properties of companies object. However, in response we are not getting the picklist options for Hubspot defined picklist fields like hs_object_source_label,

hs_owning_teams etc.,,.

have been any recent changes to these fields or the API response?

I am not aware of any recent changes to the HubSpot Read Properties API or to the properties.

I would suggest subscribing to the changelog to get up to date information regarding any major changes.

- What is the exact request being made?
- What are the query parameters? (e.g., are you passing any query params, like archived, properties, etc.)
- What about the headers? (especially authentication, but remove sensitive info)
- Any filters or customizations in the request?
- Are the fields present in the UI? Can you see the picklist values for these properties in the HubSpot web interface?
- Is this also happening for custom fields?

Hi @SRekha

The behavior you are experiencing is by design and has been in place for some time now. The flag "externalOptions," which you see when retrieving properties via the API, indicates that the available options are not statically managed within the property definition itself, but are dynamically sourced from another HubSpot system (such as pipelines and stages) or external resources.

As a result, it is not possible to retrieve these options directly using the standard property API, since the options are maintained externally rather than within the property definition.
