Salesforce sync HS country picklist to SF country text

We are trying to use a country picklist with full country name as the Label and ISO Code as the Internal value. From there we want to sync the ISO Code back to our standard Country text field. So far we have created the custom HS dropdown and mapped it to the SF Country text field, however we are seeing the full country name being pushed to SF instead of the Internal value. How can we specify that we want the internal value synced?

We have turned off sync from the standard HS Country single line text as we are not able to delete a standard mapping. We don't want to turn on State and Country picklists in Salesforce at this time.

@NVankerk - FYI, earlier this year, HubSpot rather arbitrarily changed its approach to property<=>property copy and property sync from using the internal property values to using the value label. This change will likely prevent you from directly using the country property setup that you have created - although I consider that this is probably a very smart way to organize the HubSpot data.

The only workaround that I can see immediately is to use your country dropdown as a 'master' and automatically sync it to another HubSpot text field which you can then use to connect to Salesforce.

Thanks for the workaround. Unfortunately it dosen't get us syncing both ways - I can have the value pushed to a text field and then sync to Salesforce, but if the value is changed in Salesforce it will only go back to the text field, not to the initial dropdown field. This is disappointing news that the sync change was made!
