3CX Integration

Hello,

I'm not a developer but it looks like I may need to be one. I'm trying to integrate 3CX into my Hubspot, but I see no button to create apps. It's just projects via GitHub.

Here is the tutorial I'm following that I've seen other people post, and I've seen other people say "go to your app" but in my developer area there is not button to create an app. Am I missing something?

I understand you’re looking to integrate 3CX with HubSpot following the link you shared, and you’re unable to find the “Create App” button in your developer area, only “projects” via GitHub are visible.

To create custom apps in HubSpot, you’ll need a free “developer account” (separate from your main company or production portal).

Hi @FLockwood

Could you please tell whether you are using a development account or a sandbox account to do this?
I think you should use the Developer account, then you can find the option to create a public app, and that will solve your problem here.

I believe it's a developer account. I clicked the link from this page under the text "Get started by creating a developer account".

It then takes me to this page which says I have an account.

It then takes me to this page that has an account id associated:

But then I'm taken to this landing page which looks different to what you're sending. Do I need to do something different when creating the account?

I see on the screen the following:

"Create your first HubSpot app
hs get-started"

Can you click somewhere on that part to create the app, please?

Also, following this article "Manage multiple HubSpot accounts", can you please switch or make sure that you are indeed on the Developer account you created?

@GRajput, @sylvain_tirreau, do you have additional ideas to help @FLockwood, please?

Yes I see that information but that is the process for creating an app via GitHub, which was my orignal question. Do you need to know how to use GitHub to make a simple app? All I wanted to do is to sync my conversations between 3cx and Hubspot.

If there is a simple solution for this that would be great, if not, I do not see any step by step instructions for how to acheive this integration, as the other article states I should be able to simple just create an app to get the key information I need to pass bettween 3cx and hubspot.

So, to clarify, you can create and configure a public app entirely within the HubSpot Developer Portal.

This includes setting up your app’s name, permissions, redirect URLs, and obtaining your client ID and client secret.

GitHub is only needed if you want to host and share your app’s code repository publicly, collaborate with others, or open-source your integration.

For instance, if you want other developers to view, use, or contribute to your app’s code, you might upload your project to GitHub.
But this is optional and not required to make the app work on HubSpot.

Hi @GRajput, @sylvain_tirreau, @Anton, do you have some tips to share or steps to follow to help @FLockwood in the creation of the public app on the Developer's account, please?

Hey @FLockwood,
a few things changed drastically during/after INBOUND.

Previously it was like this:

Private apps could be created in a single Portal
Public apps required a app test account (developers.hubspot.com -> create account)
Apps were called apps

Now it's like this:

All types of apps can be created in your portal. No dev portal required (but recommended for public apps/projects if you like to launch it on the marketplace)
To get the newest functionalities of apps, create a Project
If you'd like to continue with the "old" approach - still possible (but will be sunset at some point in the far future); it's called Legacy Apps now

Super confusing namings tbh (hopefully HS will rethink the namings).

Project Apps (just to get stuff right here) can only be created via CLI (I recommend to run "hs get-started").

Legacy Apps can be created via the Portal or a app portal

GitHub is not required, but recommended as you might want to have version control for dev purposes.

Hi @FLockwood, in case you have not found a way through for this, I got through after circling for a few days.

From the left, click on 'Development' > Testing > Test Accounts > Create developer test account > select the developer test account created > navigate to settings > Integrations > Legacy Apps > Create > Public, then you can refer to the 3CX-HubSpot integration page to follow the steps.
