Limit for contact batch API

What's the current limit of records to send to batch create/update endpoints for contact objects? There's an old post in 2021 saying it's 10 records per request, but the reference link doesn't show any related information any more, so I think it's out-of-dated info. Thank you for any help!

Hey @SSun7 👋 You can find all the limits here. Including the batch request limits — "Batch requests to CRM object endpoints are limited to 100 records per request. For example, you can't batch read more than 100 contacts per request." — Jaycee

You’re right that the older references caused some confusion. The current documented limit for the CRM object batch endpoints (including contacts) is 100 records per request. Anything above that will throw an error and you’ll need to split your payload into multiple calls. By the way, HubSpot moved a lot of their developer docs recently, so the old links you may find in past community posts are outdated. The current, correct link (Sept, 2025) is this one:

HubSpot’s broader API usage limits are also worth checking if you’re doing a lot of these calls in short bursts, since you may hit the per-second or daily cap

So in practice, if you’ve got a file of 5,000 contacts to upsert, you’d want to chunk them into groups of 100 and fire those requests sequentially or with some backoff if your rate limit is tight. If you’re seeing references to “10” that’s an old ceiling from years ago the updated APIs have been standardized to 100.

If consistency between HubSpot and your finance or ops system is the gap, Stacksync keeps them mirrored as changes happen.
