Thank you Ruben, I had suspected that was the case here, but it is good to have it confirmed.

Hey there, new here. Been following the public and private app guides and the calling sdk extension page to try set up an app that embeds the Amazon CCP into Hubspot. I've been using a Developer account and test account for this and run into some issues.

Mainly, I haven't been able to find a guide that explains how to embed a third party phone into the hubspot phone window / widget, just the page that says I want to use both remote and window. I tried querying the AI bot for assistance on this and it said I needed to add the calling extensions permissions to my app's scopes. These permissions do not show for me though, and upon querying further, the AI bot said I may need to reach out to hubspot to get this enabled for my account, but also mentioned this may not be available for free tier accounts.

So really, at this stage I just want to know if it is even possible to integrate the Amazon CCP with Hubspot using a free tier developer account and test accounts, so that I can test it.

Hi @Decks

You’re right that the docs aren’t super clear on this one. The Calling Extensions SDK is what HubSpot provides to embed a third-party dialer inside the native calling window.

(https://developers.hubspot.com/docs/guides/api/crm/extensions/calling-sdk#:~:text=A%20calling%20extension%20consists%20of,app%20will%20use%20these%20settings. )

The catch: it’s not automatically available in all accounts. You need a Sales Hub seat (Starter or above) to see the “crm.objects.calls.write” and “crm.objects.calls.read” scopes. Free developer test accounts don’t expose them, which is why you’re not seeing the permission in your app settings.

So: yes, technically you can embed Amazon CCP through the SDK, but you’ll need at least a paid Sales seat or HubSpot to grant calling extension access on your dev account. Until then, the integration won’t load in the calling widget.

Some teams sidestep these account limitations by keeping the telephony running externally and syncing call logs back into HubSpot via API. That’s where tools like Stacksync sometimes come in handy making sure call events or recordings are synced both ways in real time without relying solely on HubSpot’s UI layer.

Hope this helps.
