Consumptions | Zoho CRM <> HubSpot Integration

Hello Community!

For the past few months I have been working with an integrated setup between Zoho CRM and HubSpot: the integration is bidirection and in real-time.
- Contacts <> Contacts

- Companies <> Accounts

- Deals <> Deals

- Notes <> Notes

- Meetings <> Meetings

The usual consumption of API calls in the integration from March to June was around 40K daily, but starting in mid-July, it began to increase until reaching the current 650K daily.

No matter how much we search, we cannot find any changes in either Zoho or HubSpot that could have triggered this increase.

Does anyone have experience with similar cases?

Was there any resolution to this? I have a client experiencing the same issues and it's causing a ton of headache.

Yes! In our case, we eventually found out that it was due to the user IDs in Zoho CRM not matching the user codes in HubSpot, which caused an error every time a record with a user/owner-type field was integrated (constantly, since all records have an owner — whether Contacts, Accounts, Deals, etc.). What we did to solve it was to create a series of workflows in HubSpot that copied the Zoho CRM user code into a new property for each user, and then replace the owner field in the integration with this one. So far, it hasn't happened again (it's been almost a year).

@RevOpsEli would you please provide a detailed overview of the workflow's you put into place to reduce the amount of API calls for contact owner? From your previous post you mapped ZOHO User ID to custom property in Hubspot and then mapped ZOHO User ID to Contact Owner field in Hubspot?
