Oh, yes, I was referencing the section right above it. Thank you for providing the screenshot.

Do you already have SSO turned on in the "Private Content"? If so, and the section does not show up, then there might be an error in the documentation and it may not actually be possible to apply it on the entire Knowledge Base.

The reason I think this is the case is that "Access Control" section is available for Blogs, where you can set SSO to be required for the entire blog. It also allows selecting the membership list for the entire blog (instead of individual articles).

However, in the settings of Knowledge Base, when selecting "Private Only", you can't select a membership list in the settings - only on individual posts - and you need to do that for every new post created, so it is likely the same would apply for SSO.

I'm trying to implement SSO for my Knowledge Base. According to this article: https://knowledge.hubspot.com/website-pages/set-up-single-sign-on-sso-to-access-private-content (under the "Require SSO for all knowledge base articles" section), I should be able to view a section called "Access Control" when I go to Settings > Content > Knowledge Base.

I am not able to view this section. Does anyone know why this might be the case? My goal is to enable SSO for my Knowledge Base. Note that my Knowledge Base is accessible via custom domain. Insteaf of seeing the 'Access Control' section, I see a section called 'Knowledge base Access' which does not mention the ability to enable SSO for the entierety of my Knowledge Base.

Note that I am a superadmin and my user has a seat in the Service Hub Professional subscription.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

Hi @xyzmy,

Looks like you are trying to find the option in the Settings, which is not what the article is referring to.

Simply go to your Knowledge Base through the sidebar navigation "Content > Knowledge Base".

Once there, select which articles need to be gated and you will see the "Control audience access" option appear that will then give you the option to use SSO for those articles.

Hope this helps!

I believe that the article is referring to the settings section. I've attached a screenshot of the portion of the article that I am referring to.

I believe what you're suggesting works well for controling access to individual articles, however I'd like to control access at the Knowledge Base level so that my Knowledge Base is behind SSO by default.

Let me know if you think I might be misunderstanding.

I don't have SSO already turned on within "Private Content". From reading the documentation I was under the impression that setting SSO at the 'Access Control' level for the Knowledge Base would be the way to do it.

I don't think I've seen documentation yet recommending that the way to enable SSO for the entire Knowledge Base should be done at the domain level.

To make things a bit more interesting, I created a brand new account that has a paid trial for 14 days and I can in fact see the 'Access Control' section that I'm referring to in this post (Settings > Content > Knowledge Base). I've reached out to the support team to try to understand what context I'm missing.

Good points! I did the same and also see the "Access Control" in a test portal for the KB settings.

In some instances, for older Knowledge Bases, I see an "Update knowlege base" option in a tab next to "Feedback" - though it's not available on others. Guessing that update could be related to whether "Acccess Control" section is visible but it is odd that it's not consistent.

It's currently not possible to enable SSO for the entierety of a Private Knowledge Base, the "start page" with main menu, search and footer will always be visible to anyone. Have reached out to HubSpot about this and got confirmation as well as flagging it as a feature request. Now let's hope it gets solved quickly so that a private knowledge base can be fully private.

Update: I got feedback from the team at HubSpot working on private knowledge bases that the "start page" of a knowledge base should also be behind SSO, and after publishing the first article the entire knowledge base is now behind SSO.
