topic Netsuite field won't map to custom field within HubSpot NetSuite integration in APIs & Integrations

I'm trying to map invoice properties from NetSuite into invoice properties in HubSpot. I'd like the "Sales Rep" NetSuite property to map to my custom property inside HubSpot titled "Sales Rep" but whenever I tried the HubSpot mapping property is grayed out and I can't select it. When I hover over it, it says "This field can't be mapped". Why is this? I don't have the NetSuite Sales Rep property being mapped to anything else. That's turned off. I've also tried changing the HubSpot "Sales Rep" property to different field types. I've tried single-line text, drop down, etc... Why can't I select this custom HubSpot field when mapping to this NetSuite field?

For them to be mapped (if possible) they would need to have the same sort of naming convention and all of the same options between the two systems.

Generally when you are a bit limited in your options, it might be best to bring it over as a single line text, then create a workflow on that property, and set your own sales rep property by branching your workflow on that property with the different options that would appear.

As far as the third party integration, I can't answer that!

Hi, @TMHW

You’ve run into one of the hard stops with HubSpot’s NetSuite connector. Certain NetSuite fields, especially on invoices, can’t be mapped directly into HubSpot custom properties.

Even if you adjust the HubSpot property type (single-line text, dropdown, etc.), the connector will gray it out if the field types don’t match HubSpot’s limited mapping rules or if the object isn’t officially supported. That’s why you’re seeing “This field can’t be mapped.” HubSpot explains this in their integration docs here: https://knowledge.hubspot.com/integrations/use-hubspots-integration-with-netsuite

One workaround, as Nick mentioned, is to pull the NetSuite field into HubSpot as plain text, then use a workflow to translate or copy that value into your preferred “Sales Rep” custom property. It’s a bit clunky but it does give you control over how the value is set and displayed inside HubSpot

Here’s the workflow setup guide for reference: https://knowledge.hubspot.com/workflows/create-workflows

For context, this limitation isn’t unique to you the connector enforces strict type matching and not all NetSuite objects and fields are exposed for mapping (see also HubSpot’s field mapping reference: https://knowledge.hubspot.com/integrations/understand-your-data-sync-field-mappings).

Let me know if this makes sense and if it clears things up. If it does, you might mark it as the accepted solution so others can find it easier. Hope this helps
