Auto generate Invoices via API or Workflow

It would be fantastic to automatically generate invoices in HubSpot whether it be via API or in the workflow.

It would help take out the manual work from having to do this one at a time for companies that generate dozens of invoices at a time. We can already do it with quotes.

Upvote this. We need to automate our billing process to the tune of thousands of invoices a year -- one-off invoice creation is useless in this regard. Would like to have a workflow that runs on the first day of the month (already possible) that enrolls everyone based on a custom boolean property tied to Salesforce of "can_autorenew" or something like that. The workflow then would generate an invoice for each enrollee and send it out.

With invoices being a HubSpot object now, this should be easily doable if HS would just add "Create invoice" as an action into workflows. This would add enormous value for companies like mine where currently we have someone literally creating each and every invoice manually, which would in turn increase our integration with Hubspot.

It's a win-win Hubspot, come on!

Yes, I am trying to automate invoicing as well. It would be a workflow that is as simple as when a deal enters "Ready to Invoice" stage the action would be "convert deal to invoice"

The invoice API, as documented here: https://developers.hubspot.com/docs/api/commerce/invoices is read-only.

Please make is to that we can create invoices, with all of the GUI features, so that the process can be automated.

We have a few clients that are wanting to switch across to Commerce Hub for payments, but run an annual subscription model - it would be great for them if HS auto sent them an invoice, which they could then pay via Commerce Hub.

This is essential for proper commerce-to-cash operations.
Collecting payments via payment links without the option to invoice automatically kind of defeats the commerce functionality.

I am ready to really switch to commerce hub as soon as:
- automatic invoicing after payment via payment link
- recurring VAT for subscriptions
- ideally, also proper VAT logic for international business, like Stripe has

As a phased approach... it would even just help to be able to automatically send out already created invoices for now... while a larger fix is in place that enables auto-generating and sending of invoices.

This is an important functionality for us as HubSpot Diamond Partners.

Because of the ease of use of payment links, we have been using them for all different types of projects, including great success with one-time purchases. However, we currently have no way of automatically creating invoices for these purchases, and instead they must each be created manually.

The only way we can create invoices automatically is through subscriptions, where we could create a one-month long subscription that shows a misleading X$/Month in large letters at the top of the payment link, which many times does not coincide with the length of the one-time service being purchased. Due to this potential point of confusion at the time of payment, we have continued to manually generate invoices for our one-time projects.

For this reason, we would greatly benefit from one-time automatic invoice generation from payment links, be this through workflows or API write functionality that would permit us to generate invoices automatically through an integration.

Sure thing, @KSchwing ! As part of a subscriptions in HubSpot, the buyer will receive an automatic notification when thier purchase is completed, which you can learn more about here.

The line item we use is strucutred as a recurring line item with a term of only one month, with only one payment being collected.

This is the 'automatic invoice' that we have thought of using for some projects, though as I mentioned, this funcitonality is designed for recurring subscriptions, so all materials that a client recieves shows the purchased line item as "X$/ Month" which is why it's not always the best option for one-time services since that text can cause confusion.
