DOMAIN ISSUES: Brand domain provided already exists

A quick backstory I created a website with my domain. I did not like it at all so I decided to delete my account and start fresh.

I came back and had to set it again using the same email address and same domain name but it seems it created a new domain name as shown below.

So I am really confused about what to do as it seems my account is holding on to the 2 domains. Since I bought my domain on Namecheap I tried to ask them what to do which led me to delete the A records and have the below: The CName, URL redirect and 2 TXT records but no A records.

I decided to continue creating the website but I soon ran into an issue that the website already existed.

I am extremely peeved and frustrated what do I do? Do I just form a new email etc and start again?

Hey @Osheilla! So from what I understand, you disconnected these domains from one HubID and connected them to another, is that correct?

The <catalyst-marketing-lab-47664379.hubspotpagebuilder.com> domain is an inactive domain provided by HubSpot and is not used for any content, but is still associated with your account. So if you disconnect any of your domains, this will take precedence to host any live content you have published.

I wouldn't recommend making any more HubSpot accounts. The domain settings can be completely undone and redone if needed, so no need to create a whole new HubSpot account.

Do your domains appear as connected in the Domain settings of your current account? Can you also verify what domain that website page is currently assigned if you were not able to use your preferred domain?

But when I go to connect this happens but no information below it on how to go about it.

Domain Connection is not working

When I try and publish the website this is the message that comes up that the website already exists.

I know the issue is because I deleted my account (I took the option of not coming back because I thought it would delete the domain information too) and then came back again so it seems Hubspot has assumed that it is the same website/person.

Is there a way to delete the whole domain information and just start afresh it is frustrating with a new Hubspot ID

The domain it is currently assigned is 'http://catalystmarketinglab.com/'. I do not know why there is a / after the .com which makes it appear weird

Hey @Osheilla just to clarify, HubSpot does not register or manager any domains. Your domain will be registered and entirely controlled by an external domain provider (it seems like this is namecheap as you've mentioned).

However, HubSpot will only allow a specific domain to be associated with one specific account. So if you associated your domain with your original account and did not delete that original account, you cannot associate this domain with your new account. You should delete the original hubspot account if no longer required to free up your domain.

What errors are you seeing when attempting to connect your domain to the HubSpot account you're using?
