Hi,

Weglot Support here

It seems that you're in contact with our Support team and they'll be able to help you further with this demand.

Indeed, the subdirectory-based integration on Hubspot needs to be setup in a different way.
Our Support team provided a solution and they are ready to help you start back the process.

We need to manually change the value of the DNS to make it compatible with the Hubspot integration.

Once integrated, a custom language switcher plugged to Weglot will be pretty straightforward to enable thanks to Weglot anchors https://developers.weglot.com/javascript/link-hooks#example-anchor

HubSpot CMS Localization

Reaching out to the HubSpot communitie to see if anyone might be able to help shed some light for us on issues we are having with a localization tool called Weglot that says it integrates with HubSpot: https://www.weglot.com/integrations/translate-your-hubspot-websiteas. We were originally proposed this tool by our old HubSpot partner, and assumed it was a Marketplace app, but after further investigation, have determine it is not (but I do see in the chats that others use weglot as well for HubSpot). We now have a new HubSpot partner and neither they nor Weglot can get it to work, but Weglot is telling us it should work. Here is a recap of our situation:

Our website went live on HubSpot CMS in January (moved over from WordPress). The old HubSpot partner created a module header for us to select a region and select a language and then turned on auto-translation.

We have determined we don't want the auto-translation, as when people visit our website from other regions outside the US, it defaults to English and Region North America (same is true when sharing the web links on social - they always default to English and NA region). This has also negatively affected our global SEO. We need it to default to the language region based on IP and allow for digital sharing with the correct language. Thus, we have been attempting to setup subdirectors in Weglot for the languages we want translated and so the text would be indexed for SEO (example: companydomain/fr); however, even though Weglot support says they can support this, we cannot get it to work in our environment.

We have been making changes to our DNS, etc. and we able to get the subdirectories to work, but the site would then automatically redirect back to the main domain without the subdirectory link.

We have hit a wall as to next steps, and I'm curious if anyone has ever seen weglot work the way we want it to with subdirectories, and if so, do you have any suggestions on why it keeps automatically redirecting back to English (non subdirectory)? Alternatively, does anyone have a solution they'd recommend that is a HubSpot approved Marketplace app that will allow us to accomplish our localization needs, as I know we are not the only HubSpot customer who is global and needs this functionality. I see a few listed on this Marketplace app, but don’t want to go in blindly (I need a tried and true tested app if we are going to pull Weglot and start over).

Appreciate any insight from the community!

I appreciate the suggestion and we have considered this, but it's not scalable to manage this for 8 languages for every web page (even with AI, as it only can be copied the first time for each languae and any subsequent updates need to be made on every page), so this will only be a last resort option for us.
