Hi, everyone!

I am working on develop an app with Hubspot but I don't find which is a good starting point. I don't fully understand how to work after create an app on Hubspot.

The main problem is how to work from VSCode on an app already created, I want to work on a development similar to the documentation sample apps

Yes, on a first approach I understand that it was the way to work but now I am working on a first app from visual studio using some sample apps (at this moment I am working with this repository https://github.com/HubSpot/integration-examples-nodejs/tree/master/contacts-app) and I don't know how to associate this development with the creation of an app on Hubspot. Hi! Once you've created the app in HubSpot, clone a sample app from HubSpot’s GitHub, install dependencies, and use your app’s client ID/secret in the .env file. Then run it locally (usually with npm install and npm start) and test via a public tunnel like ngrok. Full docs here: https://developers.hubspot.com/docs/api/quickstart

When you create an app in HubSpot, it mainly registers your app and provides credentials (client ID/secret) for OAuth. The actual product development happens outside HubSpot, typically in your local IDE like VSCode. You will need to set up a backend (Node.js, Python, etc.) to handle OAuth flow make API calls to HubSpot and build your custom logic. HubSpot’s sample apps are good references clone them, install dependencies and configure .env with your app keys. From there, you can iterate locally, test via ngrok (for callbacks) and push changes. Teams like CONTUS Tech usually follow this integration workflow for scalable app development practices.
