Copy Production Environment values to Sandbox

Hi, Id like the community assistance to get some information I struggled finding.

We are currently in the process of setting up our Production environmnt and we have successfully created all custom fields and workflos related to our need.

We where told that a functionality exists where we can coppy all that have been created on Production to the Sandbox environment but I was unable to fine any onformation/material on this.

Can someone please help?

Hey @AVasileiou the sandbox menu should have an option to "sync to sandbox account" within your portal, this should sync any items you have chosen to your sandbox account. There's a helpful guide on this within the knowledgebase here.

Hi Tom,

Thanks for your response.

Will the "synch to sandbox account" also transfer all our custom fields?
Also, how would the synch of custom fields/properties perform? Will it replace everything we already have in the sandbox environment?
Will it keep what is already in the sandbox and create new properties?
In order to have our Live env 1-2-1 with our sandbox, do I need to delete everything from sandbox and perform the synch from live so I have everything in sandbox as is in live?

Hey Andreas,

I would assume so according to the knowledgebase article I have linked:

If a certain tool or feature does not sync to a standard sandbox account, any properties that are dependent on that feature will also not sync. For example, since subscription types do not copy to standard sandbox accounts, all contact properties based on subscription types (e.g., Opted out of email) are also not copied. In this scenario, you'd need to manually recreate subscription types in the sandbox account to match your main account. Additionally, scoring ruleset syncing is not supported in your sandbox account."

But I'm not entirely sure to be honest, you may want to test this out prior to doing your main sync.

It looks like from the article that yes this would be just pulling data from your main CRM, not overwriting existing sandbox data, but you may again want to test this with a dummy account or do a trial run first.

Both articles contain details on what can be synced, and limitations and expectations when working with a Sandbox.

@AVasileiou There is an app in the HubSpot App Marketplace called the HubSpot to HubSpot Migrator that should meet your needs.

The app uses HubSpot APIs to automatically migrate CRM data from one HubSpot portal to another HubSpot portal.

The app migrates your data with no field mapping required. There is no need to manually create properties.

The following HubSpot data are migrated from one HubSpot portal into another:

Contacts
Companies
Contact Lists
Company Properties
Contact Properties
Custom Properties for all Objects
Custom Objects
Deals
Deal Pipelines
Engagements (Meetings, Tasks, Notes, Calls, Emails)
Owners
Line Items/Products
Tickets
Files/Attachments
CRM Associations between all records

The HubSpot to HubSpot Migrator is designed to update the data in the destination portal. This eliminates duplicate contacts and minimizes duplicate data.
