Hi!

I've been using the CRM object endpoints to retrieve data about my contacts and deals. Now, I'm in need to be able to retrieve data filtered by lastmodifieddate, thus, I need to use the Search API. I need to retrieve the associations of those objects.

¿Is there a way to do this using the search endpoints as one can retrieve the associations with the CRM objects endpoints like /crm/v3/objects/contacts?hapikey=&limit=10&properties=hs_object_id,email&associations=deals,companies?

Thanks!

Hi, @jmacera 👋 Thanks for your question. You've touched on a limitation of how HubSpot's API endpoints work. For your use case, you'll need to make multiple calls. For example, one call to the Search API and one to the CRM endpoint for the object(s) you are working with. I understand this is a challenge, and I don't want you looking for an all-in-one or unified API that doesn't currently exist.

Best,

Hi @CBN,

Thank you for asking the Community!

I'm sorry to hear about your experience regarding this.
I have shared your valuable feedback internally for more visibility.

The Team confirmed that the limit for the CRM Search API is per app, so each public app or private app has its own limit of 4 requests per second.

As far as increasing or removing it, that is not possible unfortunately at the moment. You will therefore need to work within that 4 requests per second for now.

At minimum, you should be throttling your requests to avoid going over that limit, like you should be doing with other APIs and the standard burst limits, as errors for the burst limits still count towards the daily limit for private apps.

It's hard to offer suggestions without knowing the specific use case, but there are often more efficient APIs that can be used.

If you are having issues with the limit, the best suggestion would be to have you work with a tech consultant to figure out a better way to get the data you are looking for.

Thank you.

Best,
Bérangère

Thanks @BérangèreL The use case is very simple as sometimes I have five workflows initiated within the same second and each will search 1 to 4 times before ending. And this one or more of them dies due to the the search limit. I have added a 200ms delay after each search, but this does not handle all cases.

PS: I will not pay for consulting. You have a strange and useless API for search so that is what should be fixed to work like the other integrations with have with our platform.
