Unable to Track Page Views for Contacts Despite Pushing Identify Events from GTM and Webflow

Hi everyone,

I'm encountering an issue with tracking page views for contacts in HubSpot. I've set up an identification tag in Google Tag Manager (GTM) and am pushing identify events from my trial and book a demo pages in Webflow. However, despite confirming that these identify events are being pushed, I'm unable to see page view activity for new contacts in HubSpot.

Here's a snippet of the code I'm using:

In Google Tag Manager:

And in Webflow:

dataLayer.push({ 'event': 'identify', 'email': email, 'email_hash': hashedEmail, 'name': $('#name').val(), 'organization_name': $('#organization').val(), 'phone': iti.getNumber() });

Despite verifying that these events are being pushed, I'm not seeing any corresponding Page view activity for these contacts in HubSpot.

Any insights or suggestions on what might be causing this issue would be greatly appreciated!

Hi @AKeselj to confirm, are you only using the GTM parameter or you also have the HubSpot Tracking code configured in Webflow?

And in Webflow I am just pushing this event and this is the code:

Thank you @AKeselj, although you have GTM configured properly, there's nothing to tell HubSpot to bring this data in to your analytics.

You'll need the HubSpot & Webflow Integration to turn on site tracking.

Hi @Jnix284 , thank you for your response.

I've enabled site tracking, but it didn't help. When I go to Inspect-Network on the website, I can see for js.hs-scripts.com status 200 OK, screenshot is attached below. Anyway, shouldn't this work without site tracking (I mean when I send the Identify event to HubSpot via GTM, and send client data from the website to the event)? I might have missed something, but unfortunately, site tracking doesn't help either. Do you have any other ideas?

You're welcome @AKeselj, I'm sorry that didn't resolve the issue though!

If you have GTM configured in your HubSpot settings via Settings > Website > Pages > Integrations, then you're correct, it should show automatically.

I was just thinking that the tracking tool might be a more direct way to bring the data across.

How long have you had both configured? there usually isn't a delay, just trying to figure out why it might not come across...

There was a webinar in January about HS and Webflow - I'm not sure if it would have the answer, but there is an on demand recording available.

I've only integrated one website from Webflow to HubSpot, so not a lot of background to go on - and we didn't run into any issues with data.

Let me see if I can dig up any answers for you.

Hi @Jnix284

Because of how the Idenitfy Visitor event works it is a unique API call, so I don't need to connect them GTM in Hubspot. This already sent to HubSpot and if I have it setup in GTM this will be working in GTM, as likely the GTM code is added, correct?
The way GTM events fire is trough the GTM script, so this must be present in the page.

Please feel free to correct me if I am wrong.

So, I've added code to my forms in Webflow where data is sent to the identify event - and that event is set up in GTM. I've tested this, and I can see that the identify event is fired in GTM with the correct data. The issue I'm encountering is that I don't see the Page View for those users who fired that event.

@AKeselj You're right - as the GTM integration in HubSpot would be to connect it to a HubSpot website...

Your logic makes sense and everything seems like it should work, I think I was going in loops trying to figure out why it wasn't working and even confused my self a little 🤪

@Jaycee_Lewis can you offer any insight on an API issue with GTM data not showing page views in HubSpot? The script is properly configured in Webflow and firing in GTM, it's just not pulling across to HubSpot (other GTM data is).
