Best way to retrieve deals after a certain date including property history and associated companies

Hello,

We're looking to use the API to retrieve all deals that have been modified in the past 2 years and store them in a database for analysis. We need to get property history for some properties and also properties from an associated company. The main issue we are running into that the search function does not return properties with history, nor associations and that the LIST endpoint doesn't allow any filtering whatsoever forcing us to go through every single deal in the system.

The way I see it, we have two options:

Option 1:

- Use the List Deal endpoint to get all the deals in the system and filter out the deals that have not been updated since the cutoff date; this will return 50 results at a time since we are asking for history on properties

- For each set of results extract the companies that have the proper association and then use the Batch Read company endpoint to get the company properties we want

Option 2:

- Use the Search Deals endpoint to get only the deals that have been modified after the cutoff date; this will return most properties, but not the property history and no associations

- Use the Batch Read Deals endpoint to get property history (looks like cannot get associations with batch read); potentially mutiple calls per result set from search as search can return up to 999 records at a time

- Use Batch Read association endpoint to get associated companies

- Finally use the Batch Read company endpoint to get the company properties for the companies we want

It feels like there should be a better way to do this that I'm missing. Does anybody have any suggestions?

Hey, @BBaliuc 👋 Thanks for your question. You've touched on the limitation of our endpoints. As you noted, you will have to make multiple calls to achieve your goal, as there is not a unified endpoint that can accomplish this in a single call.

We'll leave this open in case other community members would like to share how they accomplish similar goals while dealing with having to make multiple calls.
