Apologies for the "is your computer turned on?" response and thank you for the clarification.

The Company Property you want is num_associated_contacts

<LI-CODE lang="javascript">{
...
    "name": "num_associated_contacts",
    "label": "Number of Associated Contacts",
    "type": "number",
    "description": "The number of contacts associated with this company",
    "groupName": "companyinformation",
    ...
}</LI-CODE>

You can also use the Associations via the Search API.

Also, I recommend you check the new (version 4) Associations API.

Have fun

We use the Company object to store information about individuals rather than actual companies (so each Company should be associated to just one Contact), and we are facing the problem that there are 43,000 companies that do not have an associated contact (meaning we cannot send marketing emails to these companies).

Therefore, I need to know if there is any way to do the following:

Find companies that do not have an associated contact.

Once this list is identified, take the email addresses and search the contact list to see if there is any contact with the same email address, and that this contact is not associated with another company or one of our custom objects.

I know it's a very specific question, but at least I need to know if it's possible to filter companies by the number of associated contacts.

Hi @MGranadosAria

First I would try HubSpot's Automatic Contact Association that automatically associates Companies to Contacts via the Domain Name (Company) and the email address (Contact). You may find this has been disabled in your HubSpot Portal.

If you have multiple companies that share a domain name (where each Company Office has it's own Company in HubSpot) then the automatic Contact to Company Association will make a mess (which could be why it's turned off) because HubSpot will associate all Contacts to one Company where the domain name and email match.

If you have lots of Contacts, without Companies, that have a Gmail address (or similar email address) then HubSpot won't know how to make the association. Which means you have to manually associate them.

You can create a Company Filter where "Number of Associated Contacts" is less than one. I would sort the list to show newest companies first, assuming they are the most relevant.

Have fun

Mike

Hi thanks for your reply. I can't activate the automatic Contact Association, because it would create a mess, as you said. I know I can filter by that property (that's how I know there are 43000 Contacts not associated to their Company). The thing is I need to know if that property is available to use in the search endpoint of the API
