&lt;P&gt;We solved this for one of our HubSpot Customers (I run a HubSpot Partner Agency) by &lt;A href="https://knowledge.hubspot.com/email/resubscribe-contacts-to-your-marketing-emails" target="_blank" rel="noopener"&gt;enabling the "Resubscription email" setting in a form&lt;/A&gt;. This allows Contacts to Resubscribe - but the Contact will have to confirm opt in (by clicking the link in the email) to resubscribe.&lt;/P&gt;

      <title>Cannot resubscribe contacts who have previously opted out</title>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;At our office, our sales agents often encounter scenarios on the phone where a contact wants to opt back into email communications who has previously opted out.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;We have customized the compliance which involves some moving parts so it's difficult for our sales agents to scroll down to communication subscriptions, enroll the contact and perform some other required actions.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Our team is looking to automate this by having a workflow to resubscribe contacts. The issue is neither the workflow subscribe action &lt;STRONG&gt;nor&lt;/STRONG&gt; the API endpoint has the capability to resubscribe contacts.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Per the v3 documentation&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;FONT size="2"&gt;"&lt;SPAN&gt;The subscribe contact endpoint allows you to subscribe an email address to any given subscription type in an account, but&amp;nbsp;&lt;/SPAN&gt;will not allow you to resubscribe contacts who have opted out.&lt;STRONG&gt; "&lt;/STRONG&gt;&lt;/FONT&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;I can understand the desire to do this for workflow actions but for developers the api endpoint limitation is too limiting. Too many companies maintain compliance internally to work within the default structure.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;The appeal of HubSpot and its associative automation capabilites is improving the simplicity and speed at which our team can work. We need to build easy to use tools for our sales team which have the compliance logic built in.&amp;nbsp;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;I would like to request an additional non-default parameter to enable resubscription for the communication subscription endpoint.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;/P&gt;</description>
