Sales Emails: Recipient Activity Data

Hey, folks. Has anybody had success retrieving the opens & clicks data for sales emails through HubSpot's API connection? We are able to retrieve this info for marketing campaign emails through the API. Moreover, we can view sales email activity data directly on the HubSpot UI on the Contacts / Companies Activity module.

Note: This was discussed two years ago in this thread, but I'm hoping that there has been some advancement on this front since then.

Unfortunately, it seems that there is currently no available option to retrieve this data through the API. I also contacted HS regarding this and they confirmed that there are no short term plans to built such an API.
