We want Salesforce Campaigns to sync with Hubspot Campaign

Hi, we want salesforce campaigns to sync with Hubspot campaigns and I know it is not possible. Can we create a custom object instead in Hubspot to store this data. We also want feasibility of linking Contacts with these custom object created campaign records, at the end this data also needs to be accesible through hubspot APIs. Let me know if this is possible.

@OGore - Can I ask what the objective is here..?! Are you hoping to:

be able to pull lists of contacts based on the Salesforce campaign(s) they are assocaited with?
report on the number of contacts associated with each Salesforce campaign(s) in HubSpot?
attribute deal revenue to a specific Salesfore campaign?

This would be useful to determine what the best approach is here.

Hi @HFisher7 thankyou for your reply, what we are trying to do is to have engagement data associated with Campaigns, as we will be primarily create campaigns in salesforce but track progress / engagement of those campaigns in Hubspot eg Form submission, email engagement by Contacts. We are currently moving from Pardot to hubspot, in pardot we have this feature of engagement mapping with campaigns for contacts. Is this something we can do in Hubspot?

@OGore - Got it. This article may be a useful read, as it details the campaign metrics you can analyse within HubSpot utilising the OOTB campaign tool (rather than a custom object): Analyze individual campaign performance.

The HubSpot and Salesforce integration will also create a contact property called 'Salesforce campaign ID'. If a Salesforce lead or contact is associated with a Salesforce campaign, the Salesforce Campaign ID field will sync to their HubSpot contact record. This property could then be used to segment contacts in HubSpot.

Maybe worth adding that as well as being aggregated on the campaign analytics dashboard, engagement with individual marketing assets will be captured on activitiy cards in the timeline of a contacts CRM record
