Creating workflows using HubSpot API.

Hi, I am working on an app that provides bidirectional sync between my system and HubSpot objects.

Is there a way by which I can create custom workflows for Company, Deals and Contacts using the HubSpot API?

Right now all I can see is that they allow contact based workflows only via the API.

You're correct the HubSpot API can only handle Contact Based WOrkflows, but you can create Deal, or Company base Workflows in HubSpot.

Have you had a look at HubSpot's Webhooks?

The advantage is they can call an API when triggered by an object e.g. Company Creation.

Hi @Mike_Eastwood , currently I am using webhook. So my requirement is that I allow users to map a field in HubSpot to a field in my system. This is a bidirectional sync meaning, any change in either one of side of the system would update the other side of the mapping. I can easily push changes to HubSpot when a user changes a field in my system but inorder to receive changes from the HubSpot side I currently rely on webhooks.

Recently I came to know that I can only create a 1000 webhook subscriptions inside HubSpot, but I allow my users to create and map Custom fields in HubSpot to fields in my system. Now given the limitation that the webhook API has, if I have many clients that cumulatively create more than 1000 custom fields in the HubSpot systems across different accounts, then my pipeline to receive events from the webhook API would fail eventually as I wouldn't be able to further create more subscriptions.

Do you have any solutions for this problem?

Hi @ArpitAtDock

I would add all the properties you want to sync to your webhook and handle the changes with your code.

For example if your Deals Webhook passes property_1, property_2 and property_3; when Deal property_3 changes the webhook will pass all 3 properties to your endpoint and you can handle the change on property_3 and skip the others.

Does that solve the challenge?

The issue is that, the app that I am creating allows users to add my integration into their HubSpot account. Users would want to add custom properties as well for the bidirectional sync between HubSpot and my app. The number of properties would increase overtime and would eventually cross the threshold of 1000.

@ArpitAtDock my understanding is that the limitations are per portal, similar to the API Limits. But I'm not from HubSpot so I can't guarantee that.
