Private Apps

Hi All,

I can't seem to find how to create a private app, and im a super user
I don't see the option on the left hand side under account setup.
I got a developer account - as it states this at the top -
This is an app developer account.

Any ideas?

Hey, @APatel68 👋 Thanks for reaching out!

You are not missing an option. HubSpot has three account types, but not all of them can create Private Apps.

App developer accounts cannot create Private Apps. The can create public apps along with setting up OAuth for authorization. (what you are describing based on the banner's message you shared)
Developer test accounts can create Private Apps.

Here's one approach:

From your App developer account, click the Testing Tab > Create app test account button
This will create a Developer test account
From there, click Settings > Integrations > Private Apps and follow the walkthrough

Hello Jaycee,

You mentioned that "HubSpot has three account types" but you only listed two. What is the third account type?

Hey, @quinncom 👋 The third is just the normal HubSpot account (Free — Enterprise) Apologies for any confusion. — Jaycee
