Size of HB v2 file

This file seems to be huge, it includes many un-related things like multiple languages (which is crazy - probably a 100 line), CSS code (even for a raw HTML form) etc.

Is there a way to use an optimized v2 file? one that only handles english? has no CSS etc?

Even if a reduced version existed, it wouldn't be possible to call a different version with the way the HubSpot forms are referenced (at least not that I've come across).

We always recommend keeping forms on high traffic pages to a minimum and using dedicating landing/conversion pages with your forms, especially longer more complex forms.

Currently I'm trying to host this myself, since I want a little more control over when this gets loaded + the ability to host this on our own server. I would love a modern version of this code. Current version is very heavy, needs for example moment.js and still supports modern browsers. Would love the ability to have a minimal version for self-hosting. Pagespeed impact is so important nowadays and this is a blocking factor atm.

@JDHollander Maybe others will have access to a reduced version (any ideas @Anton ?), but short of creating your own modifications, I'm not sure what can be done here in the short term.

You can always submit a request to HubSpot to improve the options available via the Ideas section of the community.

Make a page just for our form? sometimes it ok - but in most cases that's.. 🐼 getting in the way.

and its also - doesn't solve the issue.

what if I want a quick popover with the form? all stats show that in some cases is better for conversation. fix the website around the form as a wrapper makes no sense. its 2022..

how hard it to make a language-specific version? or a generator where you can pick the language / relevant features (for example zero CSS) a beginner js programmer could do that in a day 😉

currently - is there a zero CSS js file for raw HTML export that i can use?

btw:
"it wouldn't be possible to call a different version with the way the HubSpot forms are referenced" I see no reason why this would be correct. it makes no difference - that form itself can include a tag that says - CSS: false - that would call the same file version - without those needed 1000 lines of useless code.

Yep, I came to find out how to do it
its a surprise to me that this is not a built-in possibility,
I mean - optimization is a common practice nowadays.

Also, did u see the screenshot?
this is one out of several full screens of useless code for most users

Yes, and I completely understand and have run into this many times, I'm hopeful this is something that will be improved in the future.

Well... I guess that just as @JDHollander wisely stated, we are left to host a local js file. Which means it might get outdated. i wonder if I cut out all the "easy to spot" useless code - what would the final weight be. Since I am loading this file in every page across the site - it might be worth the effort.

@hubspot, don't get in the user's way 😉

I have the same problem! Trying to reduce the size of files on our website. The v2.js form if over 500Kb, which is ridiculous if you just want a simple form. I'd like to remove all the languages except 'en'

It would definitely be great to have an optimized version of this file. It's crazy to be loading this much JS for a basic contact form, in a single language, with no style information. I hope this is a top priority for Hubspot! Until it's fixed, are there any alternatives?

Our Google Lighthouse score is shizz and this file is one of the big contributors.

Unfourtuately HubSpot forms are used across our websites. Sometimes several on one page. At least one on every page in the footer ( Newsletter subscription ). So there is absolutely no way we can only have forms on the "low" traffic pages.
