Load bulk data to custom objects using API

Hi folks, I am looking to bulk load data using the API. I was able to do that for standard objects using the OAuth and now I want to extend the capabilities to custom objects.

My question is that, will I be able to load data to custom objects using standard APIs, or would I need to enroll in the Custom Objects OAuth Pilot Program? The user will create the custom object on Hubspot and we just want to load data into it.

PS: We are building an ETL tool and the features of loading data would work for multiple companies

Hi @SVaish9,

By loading bulk data to a custom object, you mean to update the custom objects in bulk?

If this is what you want then you can achieve it by - /crm/v3/objects/{objectType}/batch/update
and if you want to read custom objects in bulk you can by - /crm/v3/objects/{objectType}/batch/read

Thanks for answering the query.

What we wanna do is to pull data from our database and push it into custom objects. For this, I went through the APIs you mentioned - how do we get the objectType you mentioned in your answer. Also, I had a look at the import API and it has the option of loading the data in custom objects but the problem is the columnObjectTypeId to load the data. How can we come to know about columnObjectTypeId in the import API?

In a nutshell:

1. Is there a way to list custom objects via API?
2. Can we add/update data to those custom objects?
3. Is there a need for us to enroll in the pilots' program of custom objects if we are only looking to add/update more data in the custom objects and not create custom objects? Since we are a SaaS company, these features of loading data to custom objects would be used by multiple enterprises.

You can get all of the portal defined schema using this API - /crm/v3/schemas

And yes, you can create/update the custom objects.

And no, you don't have to enroll in the pilot program, but I would recommend you to do that, to be updated with the latest features.
