Legal Basis is required for resubscribing a contact on GDPR enabled portals

Hi,

When I called resubscribe api to resubscribe emails, I got this message `Legal Basis is required for resubscribing a contact on GDPR enabled portals` for some addresses like ryan.paulik@wbmason.com but got through with emails like kdowd@njresources.com.

I saw in the default settings, the `EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR)` is on.

Whatever any legal_basis I used, it always failed and returned the same message.

Is it normal ? how can I succeed to resubscribe ?

Hey @Yans.

Do you mind sharing with me 1. the portal ID in question and 2. the exact request URL that you're using?

I tried looking for contact kdowd@njresources.com on portal 5811xxx however I wasn't able to locate it.

Additionally, have you tried setting a value on the Legal basis for processing contact's data property of contact Ryan Paulik?

My portal id: 5811593

Payload:

{'emailAddress': 'yan.shi.test@gmail.com', 'subscriptionId': 9074379, 'legalBasis ': 'LEGITIMATE_INTEREST_PQL', 'legalBasisExplanation': 'Not applicable'}

I tried again just now using my testing contact yan.shi.test@gmail.com. The legalBasis value LEGITIMATE_INTEREST_PQL is from the example on HubSpot API Docs.

I also tried other legalBasis value set in the property setting but none of them works .

Hey @Yans,

Just to be sure, the endpoint that you're using is POST /communication-preferences/v3/unsubscribe?

Additionally, what's the error message that you're seeing on your end?

Hi Wendy,

I used /communication-preferences/v3/resubscribe.

The error was my mistake. I added a space at the end of legalBasis. Now it works well.
