Triggering the double opt-in email through a checkbox in the form

Hello everyone,

I would like to have an option to subscribe to the newsletter in our contact form.

This means that only if users activate the checkbox “Yes, I would like to receive the newsletter” at the end of the form, the Double Opt In email should be triggered.

If I see it correctly in Hubspot, you can only activate the DOI function for entire forms.

Does anyone have an idea how I can implement it differently?

Is there a workflow with DOI email that can be triggered when someone activates a checkbox in a form?

Additional information: we only use the DOI function in Germany and not in other countries.

Hi @SophieKloten,

This would require setting up a double opt-in process from scratch – deactivating the system double opt-in, creating workflows, automated emails, and the properties required in this process. (In other words, this is only possible if you have at least a Marketing Hub Professional subscription.)

That would allow you to define enrollment criteria for your workflow and have them only trigger in certain scenarios, like a checked subscription consent box.

It's not necessarily super-complicated but depending on the way the forms are set up exactly, how consent is currently managed and how workflows are set up, there are quite a few factors to keep in mind. High level, this would include:

A workflow that enrolls unconfirmed contacts with subscription consent and sends a custom double opt-in email
Workflows for setting properties needed for reporting and a potential deletion concept
Considering language variations and/or double opt-in email versions
Considering reminder emails
Potentially updating existing forms, workflows, and lists accordingly
