We sent out internal comms to staff with a youtube shortened URL link and it ended up in staff junk mails.

Anyone had any success on getting around this or just better off using Bitly instead?

Thanks

Hey @LBishop just to confirm, do you have your email sending domains set up in your account?

You can also set up DMARC and SPF authentication to improve email deliverability too.

There's a great article covering a huge amount of deliverability resources from HubSpot here too.

Overall there's no one fix for email deliverability issues, it generally is down to building trust from the server and following best practices, I'd definitely recomend checking with your IT team to ensure the spam filter is not directly targeting these, and also to add the HubSpot email sending Ips to your allow list to improve trust too!

Hi @LBishop,

Thanks for reaching out to the Community!

This is most likely happening due to your recipient's email client's security/email scanning system.

General link-shortening tools have been known to be used to disguise malicious links, so some email providers may view generic shortened links as potentially dangerous. This can impact the email's ability to reach your recipient's inbox.

I would recommend reaching out to your email client's support team and to YouTube to see if they have any insight into why this is occurring.
I also wanted to share these general email deliverability best practices which @karstenkoehler shared in this related post on emails going into the junk/spam folder.

Best,

Kristen
