There was an issue sending an email to this contact.

Our company is using workflow to send emails when matching the rules, however recently almost all workflows have errors with "There was an issue sending an email to this contact.", and there is no more information about this error. Need help ASAP.

I've experienced this errors before, could you check the contact record for:

Hard bounce: Does Email hard bounce reason have a value?
Subscription opt-in / opt-out: Has the contact opted out of the subscription type that was selected for the email?
Marketing contact status: Is the contact a non-marketing contact?
Double opt-in: Have you enabled the double opt-in but the contact has not confirmed their email address?

It's usually one of those things. I don't understand why the error doesn't display directly either.

Hard bounce: Does Email hard bounce reason have a value?
Answer: Based on https://knowledge.hubspot.com/email/why-does-my-email-send-show-not-sent-on-the-contact-timeline , "the email is never sent from HubSpot, so the email can't bounce."
Subscription opt-in / opt-out: Has the contact opted out of the subscription type that was selected for the email?
Answer:
Marketing contact status: Is the contact a non-marketing contact?
Answer: it is a new contact
Double opt-in: Have you enabled the double opt-in but the contact has not confirmed their email address?
Answer: just normal email, not double opt-in email

For the contact that should've received the email, what value does the property Email hard bounce reason have?
For the contact that should've received the email, what value does the property Marketing contact status have?
For the contact that should've received the email, what value does the property Marketing email confirmation status have?

How to find those properties?

For "Email hard bounce reason" there is no reason displaying, only the "There was an issue sending an email to this contact." error.

You would navigate to the contact record, click View all properties in the left sidebar and use the search feature.

If you find this too complicated then HubSpot support will also be able to troubleshoot this for you.

In that case, I'd recommend taking it to HubSpot support. Sorry I couldn't be of more help here. These are typically the reasons behind a non-specified error.
