Hey @jaymewelch,

yep, fully aggree that the current UX is not the best one.

I've seen a few things that are being tested right now.

All I can say is that the section selection is most likely gonna change in the (near) future and the UX will be improved.

Maybe it will be updated just before/after INBOUND(first week of September). So let's keep our fingers crossed 😀

best,

The recent updates of how to add sections to web pages has created new user experience issues:

Adding Content: Web designers or content teams are typically the ones creating new web pages. Having different methods and places to add content to a web page is confusing. Most web themes have pre-built sections for users to quickly spin up web pages as well as custom modules. Why would you put these things in 2 different places? From a user persepective, they want to add content to a page. Clicking the + to add content and then selecting the type of content is a better workflow.

Section Search: you removed the search function from the sections, so now users have to scroll through to find the section they want vs being able to search for something like "spec table" and be able to add it quickly.

Section Descriptions: you removed the descriptions for the sections, leaving users with only a short heading and image to determine if this is what they want. When your theme has many variations of a section, having the description helps add context of when to use one over another. Please put this back.

Thanks!

Hey @jaymewelch,

Thanks for sharing this detailed feedback, these are all valid UX concerns that many in the community may resonate with, especially teams working with modular themes and frequent page builds.

The best next steps would be:

Submit this as a Community Idea in the HubSpot Ideas Forum. That way the product team can track votes and prioritize.

Reach out directly to HubSpot Support, especially if this workflow is affecting your team's efficiency or site rollout timelines.

Regards,

Thanks, I started with HubSpot support initially because there were a few other bugs happening when they launched the updates.

The introduction of the big "Section" buttons at least makes it more intuitive, so we've got that going for us!
