I am super bummed with HubSpot limiting the number of dynamic pages you can create for HubDB or CRM objects to just 10. I'm wondering if anyone has a creative solution for getting around this.

Our use case:

We currently use a HubDB table and have been "grandfathered in" to our existing page limits - so we have 111 dynamic pages for one HubDB table. We recently moved to a custom object so that we can associate contacts/companies and utilize workflows. I built this entire process off of reading one article highlighting that we can have dynamic pages for custom objects...only to find out AFTER that there is a 10 page limit. I guess it is partly on me for not digging deeper beyond one article BUT there was NO mention of page limits at all and still isn't at the date of this publishing - and since our HubDB is at 100+ dynamic pages I didn't even think to check about any updates there either.. anyways, long story short come to find out we can only have 10 pages won't work. What other work arounds are there to use the same custom object but have 100+ landing pages pull in data from a specific object? Or am I the only one who is really bummed about this change and this isn't a problem for others?

The catch: the proposed URL slug option won't work because we want to be able to customize every landing page (ex: add a video on some, remove X module, etc.) which is another reason we were trying to move away from the HubDB since you can't add modules in per page.

Would love some other insights here!

Hi @rrhbates - I don't have much to offer here I'm afraid. I use HubDB extensively, but have never used it to create dynamic pages in the classic sense. All my work is typically done via coded modules inside specific search-style, custom format web pages, so I've never had to bump up against HubSpot limits in teh sense you are facing.

@rrhbates I'm sorry you've run into this issue, especially after coding the custom object! Can you clarify where you found the limit of 10 documented? I checked the Technical Limits & Definitions on the legal site here and didn't see it listed.

In the past, I've used hubDB to create hundreds of dynamic pages as you have, and am currently starting a new project to dynamically create a content library.

Can you also clarify what you mean here: the proposed URL slug option won't work because we want to be able to customize every landing page?

Is the limit of 10 pages because you are trying to create them all with unique URLs? or does it also apply if you indicate a page path to the same page within the table?

I appreciate any additional information you can provide about the limit.

Hi Jennifer -- I know the page limit is in some docs and not in others. And while I totally understand that HubSpot has a lot of places they would need to update add the page limits - it was a huge blocker to find out after we developed our custom modules out. As a HubSpot super user - I didn't need to read multiple since I found the one KB article that answered my question - and we developed based off of that. So anyways, the 10 page limit is indeed by (root.com/page1, root.com/page2) in our case (root.com/custom_object1, root.com/custom_object2). And our custom objects are all unqiue and we wanted to use landing pages to highlight the custom object information and have the ability to add in additional drag and drop modules and give our marketing team the flexibilty to adjsut the page as each object is unique. We currently use this same system with our HubDB table - but the dynamic HubDB table pages are hard coded - so the team can drag and drop or change how the information is layed out, which is why we wanted to use dynamic pages. But we are now limited to only 10 pages. And it won't be scalable for us to create different custom objects to have 10 unique pages per custom object.

Hi SteveHTM - I'm wondering when you say modules - are you creating custom modules that pull in data from an object's property and use that module within your landing/web pages?

If your page template doesn't need the ability to be customized on a per page level (similar to how HubDB table dynamic pages work) then you shouldn't have any problems. But since we want to customize each landing page with data from the custom object filling in some areas - we are running into the 10 page limit.

@rrhbates, you can customize the dynamic pages that you are creating by using query parameters in the URL. This way, you can create a single page off of a single template where your modules include conditional statements of what they display based on the specific parameters you define. Take a look at the Creating Dynamic Referall URLs with Query String Parameters in in the Dynamic Pages Overview. In your case, the referall source would be your site navigation bar or other hyperlinks from pages on your site.

If you were currently coding 100+ pages from a HubDB, then your url structure would be like this, with each individual page being a variation according to your needs:
<LI-CODE lang="markup">yoursite.com/path_for_dynamic_pages/hubdb_page_1
yoursite.com/path_for_dynamic_pages/hubdb_page_2
yoursite.com/path_for_dynamic_pages/hubdb_page_3</LI-CODE>
Using query paramaters in your page design and module design, you can achieve the same goal, and your urls would be structured like this:
<LI-CODE lang="markup">yoursite.com/custom_object_dynamic_page?query_parameter1
yoursite.com/custom_object_dynamic_page?query_parameter2
yoursite.com/custom_object_dynamic_page?query_parameter3</LI-CODE>
In principle. you can have an unlimited number of design variations using query parameters while only using up one out of the ten allowed dynamic pages for that object.

Query parameters are very powerful because they allow your single dynamic page to start behaving more like a dynamic web app. I'd assume this is the behavior you might be going for if you have 100+ pages for a single HubDB table.
