Email Signature Not Displaying Correctly

Hello, our sales users are having trouble with their email signatures not displaying correctly. They used the HubSpot email signature generator and are copying and pasting that HTML code into their email signature settings on their profile where it is displaying correctly but when they receive an email task on a contact record through a sequence that fires the email signature is broken and is not displaying correctly.

Has anyone else experienced this?

Is anyone able to help diagnose the issue? Could this be related to the sequence and email task that is firing onto a contact record? Is this related to the HTML code being copied and pasted in different places and is losing some of the formatting?

@CFullinwider15 can you share a screenshot of what it looks like broken? If it's the images, are they saved on Google Drive?

If so, Google Drive images are no longer useable in signatures, I recommend moving to your HubSpot files and grabbing that link for the image instead.

@Jnix284 Here are screenshots. One shows the broken signature when a user adds it to an email on a contact record. The other shows the correct preview when the user is adding the HTML to the email signature settings on their profile.

I'd like to try adding it to my test account to see if I can recreate the issue and fix the code so it works as expected.

@CFullinwider15 it looks like it is formatted in a table and shouldn't be too long, as long as you add it with a code block and not directly in the post - there are posts in the community with thousands of lines of code added for modules, APIs, etc.

@Jnix284 Apologies but for some reason when I paste the code in a code block and hit reply it looks like I have sent it but when I refresh the page my post is gone. I am not sure why that is happening?

I also have gotten this error a couple of times when I try to post the code but I am not seeing anything highlighted to fix.

I was able to add it to my email signature - this is what it looks like in the email from a contact record:

and what it looks like from gmail on a sent email:

When the sales team is updating their email signature and pasting in the code, make sure they are adding it on the HTML side, not the Simple (which is the default):

1 - when they open the edit signature box, it will default to simple:

2 - it will still let them paste the HTML code here:

but it won't prompt you there is an error.

3 - instead, click the HTML toggle first

4 - then paste the code:

If they've added it following these steps, then I would need more details about when it's breaking - only in templates from a sequence? or also emails generated from the contact record?

@Jnix284 Thank you for testing and the additional context. Our users are following the correct steps when adding the code to their email signature. It seems this is only happening when a sequence fires and an email task is created for them on a contact record. When they go to that record to complete the email task, that is when they are running into the email signature being broken like I showed in one of my screenshots.

We have tested those users going to my test contact and clicking the email button then adding their email signature and sending the email. When they do this they do not run into a problem and the the email signature is correct.

This is specific to 2 separate sequences that are firing via a workflow and creating an email task for those users to complete on a contact record.

Please let me know if there is anything else I can provide or if there are other ways to fix this.

I haven't been able to recreate the issue via a sequence, since you have an Enterprise subscription I recommend reaching out to HubSpot Technical Support directly to see if they can isolate what's causing the issue with the signature in the templates within the sequence.
