We have a live website on Hubspot with CMS starter plan. So we do not have access to formal content staging. A new website has been created in a separate developer account. Is there a way to export out the revised webpages from developer account and import to the live Hubspot account? We do not need to export/import any Hubspot data like contacts, workflows etc. Nor any custom templates/modules. (The new site uses a free theme as is.) . We just want to migrate the new webpages with new content. (Yes, we will need to install the same theme on the live site, and import the media). What options do we have besides recreating the new webpages on the live Hubspot account?

Currently, there is no other way to do it besides recreating those pages in your main portal.

Thanks!

you can use the pages API to fetch all pages from portal A and then move it to portal B.

Hubspot support just pointed out this doc: (posted by you in 2023):

https://community.hubspot.com/t5/CMS-Development/How-to-move-pages-from-dev-to-prod/td-p/810695#

I can see how to export pages, but not import the zip. So, this does not work anymore?

Hi @arinawinkelman,

if you export pages, HubSpot will create static representation of them. By that you can upload them on a different webspace or use locally but without the HubSpot functionalities(except forms if I'm not wrong). So basically you'll get all exported pages as a working environment.

There are a few reasons why you can't upload exports back to HubSpot:

Security: Since you can modify every exported file locally you could include harmful code snippets and therefore compromise the HubSpot environment.

Page exports are done most likely when you're about to quit HS. So that's another reason why there's no import.

Hello Anton,

I have used the export pages for 'save' a portal that was not going to be renewed. And it does create good static html pages that serve as a reference. Yes, imports are a real security issue. Hubspot does support importing external blog posts, but since these are a single text field, checking for malicious code is more feasible, than a webpage with endless types of custom module fields etc. Thanks again for the explanation.

Anton - Very interesting technique in that video. I can see it being very useful when exporting out from dev site, and 'posting' back into a staging area on the live destination portal. OR posting pages into a live, but basically empty production site. Posting pages back to a populated live production site would seem to be more risky. I would have to test that very carefully .... perhaps test between two dev sites first!
