Creating a message when no blogs are found under a tag

Hi there,

I'm trying to create a message that displays on our Blog Listing page when a tag is selected that has not been applied yet. We have a number of tags, and some of them are currently unused, but with the plan to eventually have posts utilizing them.

I'm thinking that when one of these unused tags are selected, the Blog Listing page would provide a message along the lines of, "No posts found under that tag option."

Is there some way I can build something like this?

@MChe it's my understanding that if a tag is not associated with at least one post, it won't be visible on the blog listing page.

Do you have an example where you can see a tag with no associated posts on a live blog listing page?

Here is an example when a tag isn't associated with any posts yet:

First off, the title does not appear. In this case, it should say Blog > Planet for the name of the blog and then the tag. Same as it shows on the Blog > FritsJurgens screenshot. For some reason, it just doesn't show.

Second, in the case of the Planet screenshot, I want to create a message that automatically appears that says something along the lines of, "There are currently no posts associated with this tag."

Thanks for the screenshots @MChe, where are you clicking these links from? are they visible on the blog listing page in a filter bar?

Instead of directing the visitor to a page with no posts, wouldn't you want the tags with no posts to be hidden instead?

It seems like a bad UX to send them to a page where there aren't posts.

Can you share a link to the blog listing page, I'm happy to take a closer look.

In general, the "tag" and "author" templates can't have custom content because they're still based on the blog listing template itself.
