Localhost not working - following "hello world" HS videos

Greetings,

I have followed the first 4 videos here:

I have Visual Studio code, node.js installed, all supporting packages installed and code example done/working. I have the terminal window listening on http://localhost:3000 and tried http://localhost:3000/contacts (per the example above) but, I believe due to being on a work computer or LAN, I cannot for the life of me connect to local host in a browser. I've googled and tried all the usual fixes. I have edge/chrome and work IT has settings in both pretty locked down. I can't go in and change anything. I also cannot disable my firewall, even temporarily.

Can I get some help on an alternate way to test up to where I am right now? (besides localhost/browser window) Can I see the output somewere in "Visual Studio Code" ?
