topic Grouping sequences in reporting in Sales Email

Hey all!

I'm hoping for some help on a topic that feels a little bit hard to solve.

Basically we send sales sequence emails generally grouped by a topic / category. E.g. Sequences might include specific content or a topic and be sent to a subset of customers.

Currently, we can look at individual sequence performance -- but I was wondering if there's a way to group sequences together or aggregate the data. For example if I had three core groups of sequences:

A- Monthly Wraps

B- Case Studies

C- Product Announcements

I'm wondering if there's a way to use a Sequence Property or Sequence Name to bunch these sequences together so I can see their data in aggregate. We want to do this because it'd be useful to understand which types of sequences tend to perform best with prospects, so we can double down on doing the things that work best.

Thanks!!

Hi @SRobb8,

Unfortunately no, this is currently not possible. HubSpot hasn't introduced sequence properties (yet?) and the custom report builder doesn't have any options for grouping.

The closest workaround would be filtering by sequence name (assuming that you have a solid naming convention), e.g. by all sequences that contain the keyword (or a keyword related to) case studies, then creating one report just for that. Repeat the same with separate reports and other keywords, then place the reports side-by-side on a dashboard for easy comparison. It's not the same but the best one can currently get natively.

Best regards!

Hey Karsten,

Thanks so much for the response. I've seen lots of your responses on other community posts and was hoping you'd know the answer!!

I'll do what you've suggested, it's probably the cleanest way to do it for now. And then just treat the dashboard as if we were looking at a report.

Cheers!

Hey SRobb8,

Thanks for reaching out to HubSpot community.

You are looking for combining the multiple sequence performance in one place, and we can achieve this with the help of HubSpot reporting.

We can use sequence reports in HubSpot library. Here are the steps to accessing them:

Go to Reports > Click "Create report" (see this screenshot)

In the next window, type "Sequence" in the left top search bar (see this screenshot)

From there you can select "Sequence enrolls, opens, and clicks by month" report. This report includes all sequence that you have in your system. You can also filter out the data based on specific Sequences, date ranges, etc.

Let me know if anything isn't clear to you.

Did my post help answer your query? Help the community by marking it as a solution.

Hi @SRobb8,

In addition to what @karstenkoehler has suggested. Here's what I suggest to my customers.

You can create folders for each category. Your folder names could be monthly wraps, case studies or product announcements.

It will simplify your navigation and management of sequences and will help you to easily select sequences to create reports.

Here are the screenshots where you can find the option to create folders.

Hope it helps.

Thanks
Rishabh
