topic Daily Send Limit assigns all contacts in sequences over send limit error in Sales Email

As the title suggests, I wanted to create a sequence with a few hundred contacts. I understand that I can only add contacts one page at a time (50 contacts per page), and I need to repeat this process multiple times.

I’ve set my daily send limit to 50 emails. When I added around 80 contacts to the sequence, some emails were sent, but those exceeding the daily limit received the error "over send limit."

I know I can manually go to "Sequences - Enrollments - Error" and re-enroll each errored contact, but that doesn’t seem like an efficient solution.

Did I do something wrong? What is the proper way to add, say, 500 people to a sequence and automatically send 50 emails per day for 10 business days, while still being able to perform A/B tests and have accurate reporting at the end?

Thank you for your help.

PS: Selecting all errored contacts and clicking "resume" did not do anything. Maybe the problem lies that the sequence was set to yesterday? But I tried manually re-enrolling one contact and it sent that one mail so the day does not seem to be the problem.

Hi Lars,

If I understand it correctly you wonder if there is a way to automate enrolling contacts into your sequence, is that correct?

At present, auto-enrolling contacts into sequences is not an option. You can only enroll contacts directly from their record or select up to 50 contacts at a time, as detailed here.

Depending on your subscription you might be able to enroll contacts into a sequence from a workflow, as explained in this article. However, this is only available if you have Sales or Marketing Enterprise.

If that is not an option for you, there is a workaround that may simplify the process for you. You can create an active list and add a filter. Click on 'Contact properties', locate 'Now in Sequence', and select 'has never been equal to True'. This will generate a list of contacts who have not been enrolled previously. You can then use this list as a to-do list. While enrollment remains manual, this method allows you to easily identify which contacts have yet to be reached out to.

Best regards,

Jess

Baskey Digital

Hi Jess,

first of all, thank you for your reply.

No, what I would want to achieve is:

1. Enrolling a few hundred contacts into a sequence. I know this is possible by only adding 50 at once and doing this multiple times.

2. Have my daily send limit set to 50. I know this is possible I have set it to 50 currently.

3. Start the sequence, ideally with an A/B test for the subject line to begin with. This is obviously also possible.

4. Have it send out 50 of those hundreds of contacts automatically each day. It does send out the first 50 but then all other contacts are set to: "Error: Over Send Limit". I can only re-enroll them manually, individually. This is a pain to do.

Now my question is: Is there not a way to have the sequence with hundreds of contacts automatically run through until all the contacts in the sequence have received a mail. All while not having to interfere in any way?

Thank you.
