Double-Check Your Tracking Settings: Sometimes, it's the simplest things—make sure that email tracking is turned on for your sequences and mail merge.

Use the HubSpot Sales Chrome Extension: If you're not already, using this extension can sometimes improve tracking accuracy for opens and clicks, especially with sequences.

Consolidate Tools: If possible, try to keep your activities within HubSpot to avoid the discrepancies that come from using external tools for mail merges.

Customize Email Types: For important emails where tracking is critical, manually set them as "Marketing Emails" within HubSpot. This can sometimes offer better tracking insights.

Reach Out to Support: If you haven’t yet, ask HubSpot Support directly. They might have insights or updates specific to your issue.

Community Wisdom: Keep an eye on the HubSpot Community forums. Other users might share workarounds or updates on similar issues.

Feedback Loop: Share your experiences with HubSpot. If it’s a common problem, they’re more likely to prioritize a fix.

Sequence Logging and Tracking

This is likely been addressed in a previous thread, but my team has repeatedly encountered issues with the logging and tracking of sales emails --

Sequences sent through Hubspot will log an email / activity to the contact but opens are not tracked, while emails sent via mail merge are tracked but not logged.

(Example: If I send a Hubspot sequence to 100 contacts, the activity feed will only say "sent" even if that contact has opened the email. If I send the same 100 contacts a mail merge blast, clicks and opens immediately show up in activity feed, but the email itself & last activity date are never recorded or updated.)

This has significantly lowered my confidence in sending sequences through Hubspot (0-5% open rate vs. 30-35% elsewhere), and I am tempted to return to mail merge, but my options are limited from the perspective of needing to record last activity / engagement date.

Apologies for the chaotic explanation, hopefully someone can be of assistance!
