Emails - Custom Module Templating

My team and I would like to create a custom email template that has multiple custom modules (easy enough).

Although foreach module, we want to check the recipients email list memberships and display/hide the module.

Is this possible? It looks like the 'request_contact.list_memberships' variable is only avaiable within webpages. Any advice would be greatly appriciated.

Are you referring to a Sales Email Template or a Marketing Email Template? It sounds like a marketing email template if I'm not mistaken? The more information and screenshots you can include, the more the community can assist with the next steps 🙂
