Contact lists to its corresponding Companies

Hey there,

I have created an active contacts list for '30k' contacts for email outreach...now I wanted to export all the company details which are associated with the 'active contacts list'...Can you give me suggestions on how to do this?

By referring to company details I mean (Company LinkedIn profile, revenue, employee strength, country...etc)

Hi @KeerthiVasan,

When you're in an active list, you can click Actions > Export list and should be able to select company properties to be included in your export file as well:

Still what if I need to create an active company list based on the 'contacts list' is there any solution to that?

Hi @KeerthiVasan

you can easily do that.

1. Create a new Contact property (checkbox)

2. Create a Workflow that will set this propert to true if contact is on your active list

3. Cretate a Company based active list and use that checkbox property as a filter

Hi @KeerthiVasan,

If your active list is only referring to contact properties only, it's easiest to recreate those within the company list:

Otherwise (if your contact list is using other filters than contact properties), you'll have to do the following things:

1. create custom property, for example type "Single checkbox"

2. select all contacts from the list and bulk edit them to have this single checkbox checked (select all contacts in the list, click "Edit", and find the property)

3. create a company list and filter for Contact properties and this checkbox (see screenshot above)

This would be a snapshot in time and not automatically update the list over time. To do so, you would need access to contact-based and company-based workflows.

I agree with @karstenkoehler , but creating a WFs allows you to have updated Company Lists in the long term.

If you manually set those contact to TRUE, any new contact won't be on your company list.

Hi @DarianVretenar,

This solution is misleading, as contacts would not have that value cleared should they leave the active list. They leave the list, keep the checkbox and the company remains in the company list.

@KeerthiVasan, if you want a long-term clean solution, you need to set up a workflow that also clears the checkbox when the contact is not a member of the list anymore. This depends on your list criteria. If you want to share your list criteria (pixelating property names and values, if needed), I can help you set up this workflow.

Otherwise, again, contacts will leave the contact list but company will remain in the company list.

That's correct.

Then it's a better solution to create a Company-based WF that will push the values to Google Sheet in real-time and then automatically delete the contact property that was a trigger on Contact based WF. BUT - If @KeerthiVasan exported Company information once, I don't see a reason why she will export it again, especially if she will filter contacts with "Company Linkedin Profile" is known or similar..
