Inbox e-mail and administrative e-mails like PayPal

Hello Hubspot community,

We love the idea of Team Inboxes and plan to reduce our email addresses to:

office@
sales@
support@

We use Marketing Hub pro and already have office@ and support@. For our customer communication this is a rock solid solution.

Unfortunately, the office@ account in particular has a disadvantage. We also use office@ for order transactions with online shops and cloud providers. Therefore, we receive a lot of emails from Apple, PayPal, Atlassian and Google. We don't care if we receive these emails in the hubspot account, but we don't want to have these companies as CRM contacts in Hubspot.

Does anyone have the same problem? Is there a good solution to avoid this? Or is it just a bad idea to have these administrative things in hubspot?

I think setting up a "Deny list" for your conversations inbox should solve the issue, here's an article with instructions.

Thank you for your answer. We do not want to block these emails. We just don't want to create a CRM contact. I think the deny list will therefore not help us. We have removed the integration of the office@ email address for the time being.

Got it. Thank you for the context @2id8! Creating new contact records for logged incoming emails from new email addresses is an automation which cannot be turned off at the moment, so the only way to prevent this is by setting filtering rules or a Deny list, as I mentioned above.

We do understand how turning this off for specific inboxes or email addresses would be beneficial, therefore I would like to encourage you to upvote this idea in our Ideas forum, where this functionality has already been requested. This post is the best resource to get updates from our product team about this feature.
