Hi @Afi,

This can be achieved with tracking URLs: "A tracking URL is a normal URL with parameters attached to it. When visitors come to your site from a tracking URL, HubSpot saves the information in those parameters." You would create these with HubSpot's tracking URL builder or Google's campaign URL builder and then replace the existing URLs in your sequences.

Once you use tracking URLs, you will be analyze your site traffic accordingly. But probably more importantly, if you are sending these contacts to HubSpot website and landing pages, you can navigate to your landing page asset in HubSpot, scroll to the very end of the page and you should see an overview like this:

If you've selected a custom UTM source in the tracking URL builder, the page views, submissions etc. from your sequence tracking URLs would show up under "Other campaigns" (not in the screenshot). Keep in mind that once you use "email" as a string in a tracking URL, HubSpot will automatically move it under "Email marketing". This view at the end of the landing page asset is interactive: You can click into the sources to further drill-down and you can also click on the numbers highlighted in blue to see the respective contacts.

You might also find this product request and beta interesting: Drill-downs for Sequences Open/Click Reporting

Hope this helps!

We are currently sending out emails through sequences. In the outreaches we include links to a landing page that we have put together.

We would like to be able to track how many people click on the link in the email.

I couldn't figure out how we could do that on HubSpot (we do have sales and marketing plan).

Can someone advise on the most effective way of tracking actions from the emails?

Thanks

Afi

Thanks Karsten,

Tracking URLs and UTM codes will allow us to better understand where the traffic has come from but it still doesn't provide details of who it is that came to our site.

As an example we are sending an email to user ABCD abcd@abcd.com with a link to a landing page https://www.somesite.com/landingpage.

We would like to be able to know if ABCD clicked on the link and came to the landing page.

We would further like to be able to understand if ABCD visited any other page.

So we would like to have the link in the sequence automatically updated with the email or an ID that will allow for the user to be directed to https://www.somewebsite.com/landingpage?tracking=abcd@abcd.com

This should allow us to track if they clicked on the link and further if they visited any other site.

Hello @Afi,

I'm not sure whether it's good practice to include clear text personal information in a URL string query. If you want to, however, you could achieve this with a simple personalization token in your sequence template:

Let me know if this is what you're looking for.

Best regards!
