Link to specific blogs

Hi folks,

I want to give blogs a bigger role on our website. One way to achieve that is to link more to and from a variety of relevant blogs. The problem is that it is not possible to link to a specific blog from a webpage, only to the listing page (/blog).

The developer I currently work with told me he was not able to implement this option in the 'link-to' field. Another way to go about it is to link to the blogs with external links. But I would like to link traffic through the 'content' option in the link-to field instead of 'external'.

Is there a way to link directly to specific blogs?

Just to clarify, your website isn't on HubSpot and your Blog is?

Could you share your website and blog URL and maybe an example of where on your website you want to link to what blog post?

Also when you say you want to link to "to link to a specific blog", do you mean a specific blog post or blog article?

Could also add a screenshot or elaborate what you mean by the "content' option in the link-to field"?

Generlly speaking, if you website isn't hosted on HubSpot and your blog is, you'd simple add a hyperlink in the text, or even better embed a HubSpot CTA.

Hi @franksteiner79,

Both our website as well as our blogs are hosted on HubSpot. In this case, I want to place the next blog (https://www.well-fair.nl/blog/wat-is-een-boxspring) on the next page (https://www.well-fair.nl/slapen/hoog-laag-boxspring).

Here you can see I am able to link to specific content (page in this case). When I click on the dropdown menu I am able to choose whatever page I would like. When I do the same but select blog in the 'link to' field and click the drop down menu open, I am only able to choose the listing page /blog.

I would like to be able to select what blog I want to link to, not just a redirect to our listing page. Hope this clears things up. Any idea?

What module or item on the page are you clicking to add that link?

Could you include a full screen screenshot so I get a bit more context?

Can you let me know what theme you are using? Is it one from the marketplace or a custom built one?

Hi @franksteiner79,

It might be because of the fact we only use custom built modules.
We currently do not make use of themes and use a very basic, but still custom, template. It is not even a module, but a section made up by a set of field that reoccur in a bunch of modules.

As you can see in screen cap 1, there is an image link as you can make up from the bottom left corner. Screen cap 2 shows the blog variant. As mentioned previously. I am only able to link to https://www.well-fair.nl/blog, not to https://www.well-fair.nl/blog/anti-trendelenburg-houding for example.

Okay, then that might be the problem.

Whoever built the custom module also defines it's behaviour.

Just so I am understanding correctly. The module seems to be called "banner...." and you want to hyerlink the image that gets added to that banner, is that correct? So looking at your page, you want to link this image?

Generally speaking you can link to all your HubSpot assets by simply hyperlinking text, images or CTAs. So maybe the module isn't set up properly?

I have to admit though, that linking from a banner image to another page or post, is a bit unusal.

It is not necerraly only hyperlinks behind a photo.
But I got to give it to you, it does seem a bit unuausal.

For now I will leave it like it is.
