How do I access the optimization tab to edit my website in HubSpot?

Hello Caitlin,

I found on a web your community via Hub Spot web through AI servise. Yesterday I was asking him some questions about imroving my site's ranking bouncing and so on. He gave me some instructions to try. But Vannot really to start when After LOgin your web and clicking on WEBPAGES I cannot find a tab follow next instructions rules:

2. Find and open your homepage for editing. 3. Click the Optimization tab on the left sidebar.

As I see it can link your web with my web to do all editing to my page to improve my visiblity.

Please assist me how I can start that editing. Thank you kindly. Michael

Hello Bérangère, Thank so much for taking a big line to assist me.

It is perhaps nearly 7 hors every from your team tried to answer some questions without finishing because 2times my last reply could not be comethrough or a few other reasons with all the same questions.

Anyway once I was able at last to add needed HUPSpot plugin to Wordpress in order to improve my seo including trafic and all SEO things as It was promised in my Start Free package as it was advised by Yout AI staff. At last I install that plugin and after activation I was called back to my account and after asking the name of my web and after my last click it is already perhaps more than 2 hours it is loading with a message HubSpot connects to WordPress.

Lead me please how I can use that pluginn to improve website. I still did not check if plugin was added because of that endless uploading. Please help even though here the night is with bright already.

Hello Bérangère,

A few days ago I was in touch with and you recommended to install
HubSpot’s WordPress plugin in order to apply HUBSPOT free tools
particularly I am interesting in Improving visibility of my new website.

After I installed that plugin it was mostly about marketing which I do
need at this momnet. Today I was in tough with one of your AI bot who
advised me to delete that Brevo plugin and istall a new HUBSPOY ALL -in
One amrcetin PLugin. As I looked the info of that Plugin it was the same
he does with my deleted previous one. I wanted to try that but I could
not find how to install that new All in One plugin .

If this is the only one to use your free SUBSPOT would you lead me how
to installl it plrase? As I can see I cannot go forwad with all changes
how to improve SEO from your BOT.

Thanks kindly for your promt reply. Are you AI Bot with that lovely
French name?

As I mentioned with the PhotoPAd I was able to install my Welcoming
picture 1024x1024 to header 1175x560 of my website . Than big picture
appears as a mall square and when I stretched it to full Header all it
is so blurry and I am not sure what to do to gey a crispy picture of the
the top SUNSHINE light and to loos at all down the images of the
nature.. The aim of all of that task is to combine that welcoming
picture made by AI with My Home page on Word press. I occasionally
deleted all Header Themes on all pages which were on the Headers on the
top of the each page.

I Was also given by AI Bot 3 similar pages for y About and Healing
Pages. Until this work be done may I put on The headers of the other
pages some picture with the right size because now is only tone and the
Them name of each picture. Or it is OK for now? After that all of that
correcting some pages and may be one subpage which should be added as
well I will corporately need to execute Analytics tool for my new
Website as for half year I have not Traffic even though it seems I have
some focus keywords and all meta tags which is required. Please lead.
Perhaps it was not clear as I had 2 injections into my eyes and not
seeing clearly and should have a rest not being too long at work.

Hey @MBlitchtein,
welcome to the community - I'm also a real human being 🙂

From what I understand, you got a WordPress page and installed the HubSpot plugin and expect to use the optimizations tab to optimize your WordPress page.
If this should be the case, the optimizations tab is only for pages build inside HubSpot.

Not WordPress Pages, as there are tons of other page performance optimizations plugins for WordPress.

As for the image topic - it really depends on what WordPress theme you're using. Something like Elementor, Divi Theme, a WordPress default one... There are countless themes (last time I've checked there were many hundrend thousands of them), so it's technically nearly impossible to fully provide help here since every theme works differently.

Something I recommend for WordPress websites:

Do not install to many plugins as this can have a massive negative impact on your page security, performance and building experience.

Try to work with the provided theme options or contact a (WordPress) developer who might help you creating something custom or modify existing features.

And since it's common these days, don't rely on AI/LLMs, they might be helpful, but if you're not a developer and prompt something like "fix the header for me", it might end in a lot of messy code.

As somebody who does performance optimizations, here a few tips for media(images, videos):

Keep the image to the size it's gonna be used (a common size for hero images is around 1920px wide) and if you're creating a two column layout with images, the image usually is not bigger than 600px wide
Keep your file size as low as possible. Images should be around 200kbyte(no worries if the hero one is around 1Mbyte), but you shouldn't upload high-resoultion images/videos with several megabytes in file size.
This will have a massive negative impact on page performance (maybe this is a reason your page is loading so long) and might end in low SEO performance as well, as Google will most likely flag such page as poorly optimized

Anton , you have a good heart and at least after 25 I lalked to human
now you are taling as real. I do not comprehend the Hero page but I do
see that the image what was done ob HubSUB it is not easy to put as you
mentioned? Please find and look at my Hubspot image stretched on a
right Header in WP . May we install this image if from your point of
professional view it looks OK?

I did stretch original image on Photo Pad and it looks good but here
just C and P it is not fitted.

Please lead me to right decision.

Hey @MBlitchtein,

can you share a link to the page you're building?

As for PhotoPad - I never worked with it since I'm in the Adobe space and therefore using Photoshop, but from screenshots it looks somewhat similar.

I don't know what your setup is or what you're trying to achieve, but the most common procedure is to host the file on the system you're using it (unless you're working with something like a Data-Asset-Management tool).

Therefore, you should export/save the image in PhotoPad as a JPG or preferrably PNG, upload it to WordPress files and select it in the page as the hero.

Tip from a designer:

Downscaling is always better than upscaling.

If your initial image is like 500x200px and you resize it to 1000x400px, it will look "blurry". On the other hand, if the image is 1000x400px and you resize it to 500x200px, it will keep the quality.

There are a few other things how upscaling can be done (especially in the age of AI), but the "downscaling rather than upscaling" is always the rule of thumb.
