How do you optimize blog content in HubSpot to get more website traffic?

I am trying to get more visitors to my website through our blog but I am not sure which strategies in HubSpot work best. Do you usually focus on SEO, choosing the right topics, or using HubSpot’s tools in a certain way? I want to make sure I am doing it effectively without wasting time.

Hi @Chickpeafilae,

When you think about using blog content to perform well from an SEO perspective, it's less important to think about the mechanism behind the scenes (HubSpot) and more important to think about the people you're trying to reach. Build a content strategy that aligns with the things they'll be looking for (topics), how they like to consume the content, and how they find it.

I've been in the industry for awhile now and I've always agreed with the approach of writing for the humans first and the search engines second. That's even more important today when there's so much noise out there. Some of it good, some of it extremely generic, AI-only written content that won't perform long term.

Quality and uniqueness is important. I know that's easy to say from behind my keyboard here, but it's true. If you're going to put effort into it, spend the time to create the strong content strategy/map and focus write fewer great articles than many generic articles.

AFTER you have a content strategy and a way to get that content written, you can optimize using tools like HubSpot/SE Ranking/SEMRush, etc. If you're content isn't well written and doesn't align with the buyers, the tools will not help the strategy perform well long term.

I'm not sure if this is the type of answer you were hoping for, but there's my rant. 🙂
